Sponsors must provide refugees with lodging, settlement assistance and support for 12 months or until the family becomes self-sufficient. Approx $30,000 is needed for a refugee family of four; the federal government contributes 40% of the funds while community fundraising will be required for the remaining amount. 

 

Summerland Refugee Sponsorship Group is partnering with the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan for the purpose of issuing tax receipts.
